Bollywood actor Salman Khan is one force in the Indian film industry who must have promoted and encouraged firang ladies like none.
Salman Khan has always been observed to be fanatical about his love for foreign imports.
He has been godfather to many actresses in the industry but what sets him apart is his kind hearted attitude for women from all corners and not just Indian.
Katrina Kaif: Salman's rumoured affair with British lady Katrina Kaif, who has her roots from London, has always been one of the most discussed topics. Industry insiders say and even Katrina acknowledges that Salman played a big factor in her career in Bollywood. Despite a bomb with debut film 'Boom' Katrina managed to climb the ladder to the top post, all thanks to Salman. There's also a Chinese whisper doing the rounds that Katrina used Salman as a stepping stone to flourish her career and find role in big-budgeted movies through his contacts.
Ali Larter: Another import from foreign shore for Salman was Ali Larter from America. Who Ali Larter? Remember 'Marigold: An Adventure in India'? Well, that was one dreadful movie where Salman was cast opposite Ali Larter. Salman was his charming best whilst working with this Hollywood beauty. But the movie was a disaster in the Box Office and Ali made her return to Hollywood. She is perhaps best known for playing the dual roles of Niki Sanders and Tracy Strauss on the NBC science fiction drama 'Heroes' as well as her guest roles on several television shows in the 1990s.
Hazel Crowney: Adding to the list of Salman's firangi followers is British model Hazel Crowney. Hazel is a small time model who has been roped in to enact Kareena Kapoor’s friend in Atul Agnihotri’s ‘Bodyguard’. Hazel had many salient tips offered by Salman as to how she ought to handle her career during the entire shoot. Hazel started her career with few advertisements for Ponds, Nokia, HSBC and Samsung before landing with her first proper role in the film 'Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar' in 2007. SHe is currently working on 'Jeena Hai Toh Thok Daal'.
Angela Jonsson: The list continues with another protégé Angela Jonsson. Jonsson was born in Chennai to a father from Iceland and a mother from Mangalore. After a nearly 2-year wait, her celluloid debut is happening. Salman Khan has given his final nod to Angela as his leading lady in his home production 'Sher Khan'. Jonsson modeled for the Kingfisher Calendar in 2011 after winning the calendar's Calendar Girl Hunt competition that same year. For 'Sher Khan' there were supposed to be two leading ladies in the script. But now the second girl's role has been scrapped, so that Angela gets full attention.
Ximena Navarette Rosete: There were also strong rumours of casting Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarette Rosete opposite Salman Khan in 'Partner 2'. Navarrete Rosete is a Mexican model. The film is a sequel to the 2007 Bollywood romantic 'Partner'. Though the movie hasn't surfaced yet and the script is not ready insiders say 'Partner 2' is still alive! The model met Salman during her visit to India and found him very attractive. It was then when she expressed her desire to work with him in a movie. Now only time will say if fans will witness Salman romancing this Mexican beauty.
In all, it would not be wrong to say that if Salman’s growing obsession with firangs goes on speeding like this, it may upset his leading ladies in India.
After all, he gave some of his career's best performances with the desi beauties.
