Salman Khan the mentor, rescues Aishwarya, Katrina, Asin

Salman Khan has always been the Good Samaritan of Bollywood. He is the real big brother and believes in spreading brotherhood in the film industry.

If he likes a person he will go out of his way to help the individual and be by their side through thick and thin. But if you cross him the wrong way, God save you from Salman's wrath.

But let's put the bad boy image of Salman in the back burner and talk about his generous.  He has an eye for real gems and spotted some of the most promising faces in the industry. Salman Khan has taken several aspiring heroines under his tutelage and launched their careers. Salman encouraged new talents like Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Asin, Zarine Khan, Sneha Ullal and Hazel Keech of Bodyguard fame.

Also a whole lot of young Turks from the industry have taken Salman's shelter. Zarine Khan, who made her acting debut opposite Salman Khan in 'Veer', says she owes a lot to the star whom she doesn’t hesitate to call her mentor. If it was not for Salman's company Zarine would have faded in the background after 'Veer' failed to impress the audiences.

Salman guided Zarine through her rough patch and now she found some solid ground after 'Housefull 2'.

Sonakshi Sinha was also spotted by Salman Khan. Petite actress Sonakshi Sinha has now become a household name after her role in 'Dabangg' opposite Salman Khan.

He’s the one who’s responsible for turning the chubby Sonakshi Sinha into the svelte damsel that she’s today. Not just this, Salman carefully monitored Sonakshi’s diet. Her movie career has also taken off with meaty roles. She will again be seen with Salman in 'Dabangg 2'.

Salman Khan has been the mentor for Asin in B-town, who signed her in 'London Dreams' and blockbuster 'Ready'. She has a very good rapport with him and says that she has never come across anyone like Salman in tinsel town. Asin says that Salman is someone special and she would love to act with him again and again.

Sneha Ullal (the Aishwarya lookalike) of 'Lucky' fame or maybe defame (it was a box office disaster) has also been introduced in the industry by Salman Khan.

Despite being launched by Salman and Sohail Khan, subsequently, it appeared that Sneha was not supported by her mentors to further her career. But the lady is not bitter. 'Lucky' was a good enough launch but she couldn't be pushed too much.

When Katrina Kaif entered Bollywood with 'Boom' it bombed in the box office. But soon she was resuced by Salman Khan. Salman literally took her under his wings both professionally and personally. Katrina established a foothold in the industry with hits like 'Singh Is Kinng', 'Raajneeti', 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and 'Namastey London'.

Even though Salman and Katrina separated as partners he still guided her and remains best of friends. When it comes to pin point her guru in Bollywood, Katrina considers every member of the (Salman) Khan family as her support.

It won't be completely wrong to say that Salman Khan was the force that rescued Aishwarya Rai's sinking career. It was only after 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' opposite Salman, that Ash was taken seriously as an actor in the industry.

Prior to 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' she had a series of flop that did no good to her career graph. Her personal association with Salman also helped her bag quite a lot of movie projects. Hazel Keech, the British actor, has been getting numerous offers after the Salman-Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Bodyguard' became a hit.

Hazel has bonded thick with Salman on the sets of ‘Bodyguard’. And he has been taking the pains to teach her how to ride the bike, has been giving her acting tips and, most importantly, sowing the seeds of friendship.

Now it's model-turned-actor Angela Jonsson's turn. Salman has reportedly taken a likeness for the ex-Kingfisher model and has convinced producer friend Sajid Nadiadwala to sign her for 'Kick'.

Shooting for the film, a remake of the similarly named Telugu film is scheduled to start by the end of 2012. The model has absolutely no work to her credit, is now undergoing acting and dancing classes.

Apparently, Angela has been recommended and approved for some more films from the production houses of the Khan brothers. The first of these is Sohail Khan's 'Sher Khan'.

Shooting for this film has been put on hold because Salman is tied up. Then, there's the sequel to 'Partner', along with a remake of the cult film, 'Amar, Akbar, Anthony'.

Salman Khan has also been an inspiration to many Bollywood heroes as well.

Be it Hrithik Roshan, Pulkit Samrat, Arjun Kapoor, music composer Himesh Reshammiya, Salman has been a guiding light to many aspiring actors.

Salman Khan is the ultimate godfather in Bollywood.
