The return of Akshay Kumar as action hero

A string of comedies, few hits, few missed and Akshay Kumar is back to doing what he does the best – Action! He started off in the industry, primararily as the action hero, and films like ‘Mohra’, and all from the ‘Khiladi’ series just helped in building up that image for Akki. But the past few years, he’s been doing lots of other genres, specially comedy. Though, here’s some good news for his fans!

Khiladi Kumar shall be seen doing some hardcore action in his next ‘Rowdy Rathore’ directed by Prabhu Deva. Talking about it, Akshay says, “I am so excited! I touched action after seven long years. I came in the industry because of action. And now that I’m donning that avatar after so long, I feel like a newcomer. “ And ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is not just action packed, it has a dose of humour, songs and all the elements of entertainment as Akki puts it.

The original ‘action ka baap’ Akshay, though has no qualms about the fact that other heroes like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and many others have been doing a lot of action. And he clears the air about any kind of competition, ofcourse while he puts his sarcastic side to display. “In the film industry, all of us work together. But we aren’t horses who are running in a race where we have to win and come first. They are all my friends. There isn’t any competition as such.”

The ‘Khiladi’ also confirms that for the love of action, he has taken up 2-3 more films apart from ‘Rowdy Rathore’ that are action packed, one of them being – ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.’ While he has been up high on the success ladder, Akki has also tasted failure quite a few times, with few of his films in the past. Hoping, returning to his first love, also brings in more success for him.
