Buzz: Salman’s Sher Khan’s gonna change

After Yash Raj Films announced the title of their Kabir Khan directed film with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif as Ek Tha Tiger, Sohail Khan is now feeling sheepish about the tile of his film Sher Khan and wants to change it.

Interestingly not many people are aware that Salman Khan’s personal bodyguard is called Shera and he runs an agency called Tiger. Salman has worn the same Tiger agency uniform for his role in the film Bodyguard. Even as this may come in the way of Ek Tha Tiger’s prospects, it clearly will affect the prospects of Sher Khan whose release will come in much later. So where does that leave Sohail and Sher Khan. The Khans have decided not to share the 'sher' and go on their own. But for that, they will have to change the name of their film.

It’s Ash Vs Vidya

There are two films being made on heroines and their lives.

One of them has Vidya Balan in the lead role essaying a Silk Smitha based character in Milan Luthria’s film for producer Ekta Kapoor. The second film that is being made is by Madhur Bhandarkar for UTV and that stars Aishwarya Rai in the lead role.

Now both these film companies along with the directors have now stepped up the pace of making their films to ensure that they hit the marquee first. Also the point now is that as to who manages to even go on the floors before the other.

While the stories are a trifle different from each other -  Bhandarkar’s Heroine is about a superstar and her fading career and Milan’s The Dirty Picture is about the biggest-ever item girl and her fading career. Madhur wants to shoot immediately and release the film after Ra One. What will Milan do?

The filmmaker in the meantime is working on another project with Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi and is calling it Revolver with both Ajay and Sanju playing producers as well. Hmm...

Salman to pay back mentor

Salman Khan was last seen playing the lead in a Sooraj Barjatya film HumS aath Saath hain. Though Salman has done a cameo in one of the Rajshri Productions lately, he is all set to play the lead now in a film being directed by Sooraj Barjatya. Salman played the character of Prem in three Sooraj Barjatya films and they made their money. But post the black buck controversy, Salman was not a fixture with the Barjatyas and the Barjatyas flopped. And now Sooraj has narrated a script to Salman which he has liked a lot and is now working out his dates next year to work in that film. Also with the quality of films being done by other directors for Rajshri Productions letting the legendary company down. Sooraj has told Salman to pay back for what they did for him by launching him in Biwi Ho Ti Aisi and then giving him a film like Maine Pyar Kiya. And yes, Sallu has agreed to work with Sooraj Barjatya after 12 years now in yet another saga about family values and all that.

Salman incidentally has to work in the other film called Kick which is being directed by Shurush Kunder for producer Sajid Nadiadwala. So when will he work on that film? Will Sallu do a double shift again and shoot for multiple films like he did in the days of yore and spoil the market again? We do not know. But we want the films to be made well with  no issues and Salman needs to rule again After all Salman says now, “I think my career has just started now, the way it is going.”

Vinod Chopra’s in-lawful entry

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s journalist wife Anupama Chopra is trying to help her sister  Tanuja Chandra, maker of movies like Dushman and Sangharsh with her new film called Raakh.

Raakh stars Rajeev Khandelwal and is the same title as the movie in which Aamir Khan acted after Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. For trivia hunters, Rajeev Kahndelwal’s first film was called Aamir.

The Tanuja helmed Raakh was not getting a good buyer, but Anupama did help her sister by getting her husband view the film and apparently Vinod Chopra is keen to buy off the film and distribute it as well. But then that has to do with the quality of the film and not just because the film is by his sis in law.
