Kim Kardashian syndrome! Stars these days just cannot keep their phones in their pockets.

It has officially been announced that Cannes Film Festival will ban all selfies this year.

However, it appeared not all the stars got the message after Eva Longoria and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were photographed flouting the new rule on the hallowed red carpet of the Palais Des Festivals.

Appearing at the premiere of 'Carol' in their roles as L'Oreal spokesmodels, the pair posed for a selfie together taken by Bollywood beauty Aishwarya.

Eva Longoria has been documenting her entire evening proccedings on social media platforms and cozying up with Ash. Eva also took time for a solo selfie on the steps on the Palais.

Posting her selfie on Twitter, she wrote: At the top of the Palais! Celebrating 10yrs with @lorealParis #Cannes2015 #BecauseWeCannes #InsideCannes.'

L'Oreal Paris's Indian Twitter feed posted a pic of the two posing together, captioning it: 'We became friends at Cannes. L'Oréal Paris got us together!" -Aishwarya. @EvaLongoria #Cannes2015 #AishwaryaAtCannes.'

Eva, 40, was thrilled to be reunited with her old friend Aishwarya, 41, who she met at Cannes many years ago.

However it appears Aishwarya and Eva weren't the only ones breaking the ban - models Erin O'Connor and Erin Heatheron were also spotted taking selfies on the Palais.

A guest at the premiere of Woody Allen's 'Irrational Man,' snapped a picture of himself with both Allen and the film's star, Emma Stone, on the red carpet Friday night — disregarding the wishes of the festival's director.

Although selfies weren't explicitly banned, festival director Thierry Fremaux had said that they were 'ridiculous and grotesque' and pleaded for self-restraint on selfies as guests walked the red carpet.

Stone smiled during the selfie photo, while Allen looked less than amused.
