It has been a whirlwind of emotions at the Big B’s house lately.

The most-awaited baby girl has arrived and that has got the Bachchan household busy thanking all—family, friends and peers. And now finally it seems to be the media’s turn—who for a change have been respectable to Big B’s wishes of no interference.

Says an overcharged Amitabh Bachchan, “I would like to thank the media for being so supportive. You promised that you will cooperate with us and have stayed true to your word. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my entire family. You have been so kind in our family matters.”

Talking about his granddaughter, the legend says, “She has come like a Lakshmi in to our home. She is a jewel and we all are so happy to have her. Our parents blessing were there with us. It is good that Jaya and Abhishek got what they wanted, a daughter. We went to Pratiksha bungalow first because that is our first home and we wanted the new baby to start her life with the blessings of that place.”

The family is back in Jalsa now.

Speaking more about his bundle of joy, Big B says, “I think she looks a lot like Aishwarya. However, children’s faces keep on changing. A few think she’s looks like Abhishek. We are happy to have a granddaughter.”

The senior Bachchan also admits that they haven’t had the time to think of a name of their precious grandchild. “We have been so engrossed in celebrating the joy that we haven’t thought of a name as yet. But yes, we will try and keep a name beginning with an ‘A’.”

Amitabh, who is on a self-imposed break, also talks about the little known delivery. “Aishwarya had a normal delivery. She wanted a normal delivery. The labour pain went for two to three hours, but she bore the pain bravely. She refused to take any painkillers as it might affect the child.”

Big B also cleared one more report: that of a constraint order for the media?  He said, “It is a rumor. I never requested any government to ban the media. I never thought about it and have never made such a statement.”
