When you heard the news about Bollywood power couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai teaming up for Himesh Reshammiya's 'Masoom' remake you know something is wrong, right?

No offence to anyone, but this news didn't have any veracity from the onset. There is no dearth of big banners vying to cast Aishwarya Rai in their movies and to think Ash will return with a remake is little ambitious.

However, we all know that the 1983 'Masoom' is a masterpiece starring Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Supriya Pathak.

It was speculated that Himesh Reshammiya, music composer-turned-producer, has zeroed in on Aishwarya and Abhishek to play the roles immortalised by Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah.

Emirates24|7 has confirmation from Aishwarya Rai's spokesperson that Ash and Abhishek are not working in the remake and the report is false.

As fans eagerly wait to see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan once again in the big screen after her maternity leave, various assumptions suggesting her comeback make it to the print everyday.

Few months ago reports did the round that filmmaker Karan Johar has been planning a period drama and as his leading lady he wants none other than Aishwarya.

News has been doing the rounds that Karan Johar's multi-starrer period drama will be a casting coup of sorts.

Karan is gunning for Ranbir Kapoor as the hero and he plans to bring in Ranbir's girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Then comes the news that director Sriram Raghvan wants to make a thriller with Ash. Guess the male lead - youngster Varun Dhawan and to be produced by Saif Ali Khan.

Even Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' was touted to be Ash's new launch pad.

It's just a matter of time before Aishwarya makes the grand comeback (she hates to call it a 'comeback'). In a press conference she said, "I didn’t go anywhere so how will I make a comeback. Somehow I do not understand the word. I have just stayed away from films. Once I sign a film, a formal announcement will be made."

Last seen in ‘Guzaarish’ in 2010; there was a loud cheer when Aiswharya finally opened up during a television interview about reading scripts.

She assured fans saying, “Looking forward to interesting scripts, there have been scripts coming my way and everybody have been asking me about getting down to planning schedules. There are several offers but am slowly getting around to reading scripts now."

The actress who has been on a self-imposed sabbatical has finally zeroed down on a couple of scripts but has been asked not to talk about them before any formal announcement.

Filmmakers like Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have been queuing up with their projects.

First it was her pregnancy, then it was her baby Aaradhya, later her post baby flab - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stayed in the limelight without actually facing the camera for more than 2 years now.

But fans wants to see this beauty for what she is best known for and are waiting to see Ash return to the big screen.
