Just days after director Anurag Kashyap’s big-budgeted ‘Bombay Velvet’ opened in cinema halls, twitter has been divided with mixed reviews.

While reviews and box-office collection hints at a discouraging start, the filmmaker took to facebook to express his decision to stick by his film.

"Maybe when the shock of the narrative wears down , you will revisit it in the calm of your homes and will get into it. Maybe our experimenting with the narrative didn't work for most but i firmly believe in the film. This is the film i wanted to make and i am glad i got to make it," he wrote in his post on Sunday.

A day later, Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma tweeted to Kashyap his disappointment.

"A director standing by his film rejected by the audience is like him telling a girl ‘I love myself and I don't care if you don't love me’," he wrote.

To which, Kashyap responded. "I love you too much.. now put that ***** aside and sleep.. lots of kisses."

RGV retorted, "Well sir, for your info I stopped drinking... I am not into kissing men but love you too."

Kashyap replied, "Then let’s have filter coffee together soon to celebrate the ‘AAG’ (fire and reference to RGV’s biggest box office disaster".

And, RGV sealed it with, "And in the course of having Coffee with Karan maybe we can learn from him how not to make Aag’s and make Kuch Kuch's."

"The bottom line is everyone makes an AAG and till he makes his own AAG he will bitch about others AAGS until he too burns in his own AAG."

Another person making rather unflattering comments about Kashyap and his movie is the notorious Kamaal R Khan, who posted a rather distasteful review of the film on his YouTube account and urged the director to accept defeat and complete his challenge.
