Archana or Ankita Lokhande of ‘Pavitra Rishta' returns

Small screen star Ankita Lokhande fondly known as Archana from ‘Pavitra Rishta’ will soon return to the show.

Initially, it was reported that Ankita was overworked due to the tight schedule and wanted to take two months break from the daily soap.

But there were also reports that Ankita wanted to leave the show midway when she was asked to play grandmother in it. Ankita who already plays mother of four adult kids was not comfortable with the idea of playing a grandmom.

When contacted by Emirates24|7, Zee TV also confirmed saying that Ankita was on her way out but did not declare the date.

There was also news that actress Gautami Kapoor was going to replace her as Archana, but now Ankita is back for good.

Her co-actor and beau Sushant Singh Rajput (who earlier played the male lead) had quit the show to make his Bollywood debut with ‘Kai Po Che’.

So theories emerged that Ankita might follow Sushant's footstep and enter Bollywood, hence she wanted to quit ‘Pavitra Rishta’.

But now things might not have worked out.

Ankita has been in the serial since it first went on air in June 2009.

Like any Ekta Kapoor serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ had taken 20 years leap. Currently, Archana is in coma and is seen recovering at rapid speed.

So Ankita went on a vacation with Sushant and took that much needed vacation.
