Saudi Arabia’s Middle East Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) on Saturday launched the long-awaited Bollywood channel with many scenes from Indian movies and songs.

The Dubai-based company had originally scheduled to launch the new channel in mid October but it postponed the plan to October 26.

“Get ready to see and love the new era of Bollywood,” the channel said, adding that it would show some movies on Saturday.

MBC Bollywood raised to 14 the number of TV channels owned by MBC, a private Saudi venture and one of the largest media companies in the Middle East.

Over the past few weeks, MBC has advertised heavily for the launching of the new channel, which will showcase movies, TV series and other events from India.

MBC’s channels include Arabic language MBC 1 and MBC drama as well as MBC 2, MBC Action and MBC Max, which are dedicated to foreign movies and series.
