Celina Jaitley marries Dubai-based hotelier

Celina Jaitley is married. But no one really knows why was Celina so hush hush about it. She got married to her longtime partner Peter Haag on July 23 in a quiet wedding in Austria.

Though the wedding had taken place in July she made the official announcement on twitter only yesterday, "Beloved tweeple. ..With great pleasure I would like to announce my wedding with @peterhaag n the 23rd of last month at a thousand year old monastery in Austria. We seek your blessings and good wishes, and apologize for the delayed announcement due to a family tragedy ..."

The former Miss India says the urgency was because Peter's grandmother was seriously ill and wanted to see them married.

Peter Haag is a hotelier based in Dubai. He describes himself on twitter as, "Hotelier. Marketeer. Brand Strategist. Passion for Luxury, Hotels, Fashion, Photography, Design, Innovation and Nature. Apple-fanatic."

The couple has been together for one-and-a-half-years. They were engaged in a small ceremony in Mumbai earlier this year.

She wore a saree which was a vintage, royalty inspired chiffon saree decorated with gold mukaish by dear friend Rahuul Jashnani who flew down especially for the wedding.

Celina says, "We had a beautiful court ceremony at a spectacular 1,000-year-old monastery in Austria. Peter selected the venue; It's one of the oldest monasteries in the world. The court judge came specifically for this grand ceremony and gave a touching sermon, followed by a beautiful champagne lunch."

Celina says it wasn't a traditional church wedding. "However, It was definitely magical. We are planning a reception to celebrate this important occasion in our lives. It was an intimate affair attended by very close family members only. Since my parents couldn't make it due to last minute visa challenges, Peter's father gave me away during the ceremony."

Wonder what was the hurry about. Anyway, we wish the newlyweds a happy married life!
