Farmer throws scantily clad Rihanna off his land

Pop superstar Rihanna was thrown off a farmer's land in Northern Ireland after he objected to the singer stripping down to a bikini while filming a new video.

The popular performer was recording a video on Monday for her new single "We Found Love" in a muddy barley field in the town of Bangor, east of Belfast.

But farmer Alan Graham, who had initially given the singer permission for the shoot on his land, decided the 23-year-old had gone too far when she removed a long check dress to reveal the red patterned bikini.

The 61-year-old devout Christian pulled up in his tractor next to the Barbados-born star and told her to cover up.

"Her behaviour was inappropriate," said Graham, who is a member of the Protestant, conservative Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), which shares power in the devolved executive in Belfast.

"She understood where I was coming from. We shook hands and parted company on good terms."

"I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends. Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God," he was cited as saying by the BBC.

The filming took place near a busy road and hundreds of people gathered to watch the performance with some using their camera phones to record the shoot.

Graham said he had not been aware of what the production team had in mind for the video when he gave permission for his land to be used.

He had even helped the team prepare for the shoot, pulling free some recording equipment which got stuck in mud and filling in a hole with straw. The farmer admitted however that he had not heard of Rihanna, who has sold more than 20 million albums, until someone called him up about the shoot.

"Someone explained she was as big as it gets as far as pop stars were concerned. I am a bit illiterate about those issues," he said.
