May 16, 2013, was the date of Sanjay's Dutt's surrender at and now the star will spend the next 3 years in prison. Sanjay was very emotional and vulnerable in the days leading to his surrender and wanted to be saved the media circus.

The IPL scam broke just a day before Sanjay's surrender and the media rushed to cover it, thus saving Sanjay the spotlight.

Test cricketer S Sreesanth, his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and 11 others were arrested for alleged spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League's latest season.

This has raised a ruckus in our cricket mad country, casting a shadow on the credibility of the IPL.

All this deflected the attention away from Sanju baba’s surrender, and he was able to complete the process peacefully.
