Jennifer Lopez wins the Glamour Women award

Jennifer Lopez was honoured at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night.

The 'On the Floor' hitmaker - who split from her third husband Marc Anthony earlier this year - received the All-Star award at the ceremony at New York's Carnegie Hall and thanked all of the ladies in her life for her success.

Speaking as she accepted the honour in front of a star-studded crowd, which included Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba, she said: "We all felt a little overwhelmed tonight.

"It's the women. Through the ups and the not so ups, that's the one thing that got me through. My grandmother, who taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble. And to go out looking nice because people like that and then they respect you."

"My daughter Emme inspires me to be a better human being."

Jennifer - who also has a son Max, three - later wrote on twitter: "What an amazing evening ... filled with LOVE and beautiful women. Thank you @glamourmag ... I am truly honoured (sic)"

US chat show host Chelsea Handler picked up The Queen of the Night award, while Lea Michele was presented with The Diva Next Door prize in honour of young women who make a difference in the world, by her close friend and former 'Glee' co-star Jonathan Groff.

Lea tweeted: "What an inspiring night tonight at the Glamour women of year awards. So unbelievable!"

Other honourees, included Jennifer Aniston, former First Lady Laura Bush, Arianna Huffington and Gloria Steinem.
