After only dating him for six months, Jessica Simpson has announced her engagement to former NFL player Eric Johnson and doesn't plan on getting a prenup – again.

PopEater reported that Simpson does not want a prenuptial agreement signed for this marriage, just as she did not want one for her first marriage to Nick Lachey – who ironically just announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo a few days before Simpson.

Because of the non-existent prenup with Lachey, he walked away with $10 million in their divorce settlement. Simpson's father, Joe, is reportedly not happy with his daughter's decision, and does not want it to happen again. Joe is Simpson's manager and gets ten percent of her earnings. Simpson is currently worth an estimated $100 million.

A family friend told PopEater, "At the moment, Joe is sitting back and being a great father, supporting his daughter and his future son-in-law. However, you can bet after all the excitement has died down, Joe is going to do everything in his power to make sure Jessica doesn't walk down the aisle until Eric signs away any right he might have to Jessica's enormous fortune."

The source also said that Simpson tends to follow her heart and not her head when it comes to love.

The whirlwind romance has been all about the PDA for the newly engaged couple. According to People , Simpson and Johnson were introduced in May by friends and have been inseparable ever since. They celebrated her 30th birthday in Italy together and couldn't keep their hands off of each other.

Simpson's father isn't the only one who has concerns. Us Weekly wrote back in Sept. that friends were concerned that Johnson was using her for her lavish lifestyle.

No word yet on a wedding date, but the happy couple will be spending Thanksgiving together. MSNBC reported that Simpson told Ryan Seacrest that Johnson and his family, as well as hers, will join her on the float in the Macy's Day Parade.
