Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's road to true love and happily ever-after has hit a dead end.

Friday night, the young lovebirds met for dinner to reconcile their differences - only to swiftly exit the restaurant minutes later.

While fans might be hoping that a quick hello and a hug was all that was needed to get them back on track, it seems the opposite is true.

Selena was seen fleeing a Japanese restaurant in the San Fernando Valley because they had a huge argument within 10 minutes of sitting down.

The singer was seen chasing her back to her house but she refused to open her security gates for him.

Justin was outside Selena's gated mansion, begging the brunette singer to let him in.

The Canadian heartthrob was spotted at the home of 20-year-old 'Love You Like A Love Song' singer next morning, sparking speculation they spent the night together after the night drama.

But a source told EOnline.com: "Something must have happened overnight, though, because his car was there this morning."

The source said: "Selena drove off and Justin just sat there for a few minutes. I think he was waiting for her to calm down. He then drove to her house. When he got there, he started buzzing her gate. But she was obviously not letting him in. He continued trying. Then, after a while he got out of his car, he was obviously frustrated and went up to the gate and started yelling 'Selena' over it. But...she was not coming out.

"It was at this point [Justin] started to yell at the paps. He was obviously annoyed that they were there and witnessing everything. He was mad. Selena then came out, because there was such a commotion, he got in his car and left."

The disastrous date came shortly after Justin hinted to his twitter followers he was struggling to deal with their break-up and admitted he was trying to figure his life out.

He wrote: "Things aren't always easy. There is a lot of pressure. I'm figuring it all out. I'm trying. But I care, I notice, I still hear u. (sic)"

Selena and Justin have had numerous crisis talks about their future together in recent days.

Insiders claim that the young couple have a fairly fiery relationship at the best of times, but Justin's decision to take a Victoria's Secret model to see The Lion King last week has left Selena furious.

At the time, she retweeted a photo of her boyfriend that had been posted of himself hanging out with rapper Lil Twist and Hungarian lingerie model Barbara Palvin.

Selena was said to be livid, and even went as far as blocking her pop-star beau from her cellphone.
