Kim Kardashian's mom support her through split

Kris Jenner is "supporting" her daughter Kim Kardashian through her divorce.

Kim announced she was splitting with husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage yesterday (31.10.11), and her mother has revealed the decision was a shock to her and she is doing all she can to help her deal with it.

She said: "Of course [it was news to me]. Kim had to make a very difficult decision. But she had to do that on her own. You know, she's not five years old. She's a 30-year-old woman who definitely needs my support right now.

"Whatever her decision was at the time, I'm just here to support her as her mum and make sure she's OK too."

Kris also claims the divorce is not that unusual but simply magnified because of her daughter's fame.

She said: "Kim's not the first person in the world to get a divorce or have something like this happen to and she won't be the last.

"She just happens to be a very public person with a couple of television shows on the air so it makes it bigger than life."

She also added she is not judging Kim for her decision to split.

She added to Kiss FM radio show 'Johnjay and Rich': "I can't judge her. I can't speculate for her. I can just love her. It's just a horrible, horrible situation.

"People have to stop judging her. Take a step back. Let Kim do what she needs to do and just be supportive. It's not easy."

Kris Humphries cancels club appearance

Kris Humphries has cancelled an appearance at a Las Vegas club.

The basketball star was set to appear at the Chateau Nightclub at the Paris Hotel on Saturday (05.11.11), but has cancelled following Kim Kardashian's decision to file for divorce from him.

Kris featured in shirtless ads for the club night to promote it, but his representative told People.com the "devastated" hunk would not be taking part.

The 26 year old is believed to currently be in his native Minnesota dealing with the fall-out of the split, and said yesterday (31.10.11) he was "committed" to the marriage, which has lasted for just 72 days.

He said: "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to work."

Kim flew to Melbourne, Australia, on the day of the split announcement, and released a statement saying it was not an "easy decision" to end her short marriage.

She said: "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision.

"I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned."
