Konkona confirms weekend wedding to Ranvir

Congratulations have been flooding in for Bollywood actors Konkona Sen Sharma and her new husband Ranvir Shorey after the pair posted confirmations they married over the weekend on Twitter.

“Hey guys. Ranvir and I got married on the 3rd (September). Thanks for all the good wishes! Goodnight,” Konkona, 30, posted on her page.

“We wanted you to read it here first but… we got married! Yay,” Shorey wrote. “The best wish/advice I’ve received on marriage so far: ‘Congratulations! Don’t do it again.”

The couple were engaged in 2008 and reportedly exchanged wedding vows in an intimate ceremony at their North Mumbai residence in Goregaon. Only a smattering of relatives and friends, including actors Fardeen Khan and Shilpa Shetty, attended.

As soon as the award-winning actress confirmed her marriage, congratulatory messages flooded in on the site. Shabana Azmi said: “Congratulations both of you - bahut saara pyar (lots of love).” Director Karan Johar  added: “…huge congratulations!!! The best years ahead!!”

Others posting their wishes included actress Genelia D’Souza.
