Congratulations are pouring in as Saif Al Khan and Kareena Kapoor finally got married earlier today at their home in suburban Bandra through a registered marriage.
Friend and co-star Shah Rukh Khan didn’t waste time, taking to Twitter shortly after to wish the happy couple, writing: “Happiest marriage bond to my friend Saif and Kareena. May Allah keep your family healthy and happy. Just saw it is registered, sealed and delivered.”
The 42-year-old Nawab of Pataudi was dressed in a simply grey and white traditional Indian attire of kurta and pyjama, while Kareena was dressed in a green shalwar kameez, with an embroidered duppata.
The duo waved out to the crowds shortly after the ceremony with marriage Registrar Surekha Ramesh saying: “It was a registered marriage with three witnesses – Kareena’s father Randhir Kapoor, her mother Babita and Saif’s mother Sharmila.”
Randhir and his elder daughter Karisma also later waved to the waiting fans and media from the balcony of the house.
Those present also said that Kareena’s cousin Ranbir Kapoor was also present but he didn’t show up in front of the media.
The happy couple are expected to have a traditional wedding ceremony this evening at the Taj Palace Hotel Mumbai, with reports conflicting on whether it will be a nikaah or the duo will exchange vows to honour Babita who is a practicing Christian.
