Shah Rukh Khan is Athiya's favourite, not Salman Khan

IT could come as a surprise that Salman Khan is not Athiya Shetty’s favourite actor, also considering the fact that it Salman Khan who is launching the girl; born to Suniel and Mana Shetty. But it is Shah Rukh Khan. Athiya’s childhood crush and love has been Shah Rukh Khan with his lover boy roles.

“I have been brought up on a diet of Shah Rukh Khan romantic films right from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge to Kal Ho Na Ho and hence he has been a childhood favourite,” says the actress, with a degree of nonchalance.

But the girl is quick to realize that the media could take this story anywhere else. “My all time favourite however will remain Salman Khan,” she adds quickly. “No one can ever replace him,” she adds with a little more thought to her grey cells.

Salman however does continue to advice her too on issues related to films and beyond. “Salman Khan has taught me to respect people and their time. He has told me how to treat people with a lot of warmth and respect. He has certain qualities which we can imbibe only be looking at him,” she says with a smile.

Ideally most actors tend to sign their second film just before the release of their first film, but Athiya hasn’t. But when you quiz her further, you realize that she could have a plan. “I am a very big fan of Ranveer Singh among the current brand of actors. He is very good, very spontaneous and acts really well. There is a lot of energy to him,” she says.
