Terminator dead: Schwarzenegger hoax goes Twitter viral

Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger at the premiere of 'Expandable 2'. (BANG)

Schwarzenegger dead.

Remember Morgan Freeman. Well he is still alive.

Not on Facebook though. That social network mourned his passing away – for at least a couple of hours – before it was evident that the Hollywood superstar was bumped off only in name.

Now, another blog has attempted to kill a Hollywood superstar and another social network helped keep that ‘breaking news’ alive for some time.

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today - October 16, 2012.

A blog and a news site claimed the story stating that the actor was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends, when he lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at high speed.

The story adds: “Arnold Schwarzenegger was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death.”

The first RIP message flash on Twitter and the hoax went reasonably viral.

Tweets varied from sadness to disbelief to the ‘He’ll be back’ statements.

Well, a story stating that Arnie is ready to do Terminator 5, also on the web today, seems more plausabile.
