In a bid to end speculation that all’s well between him and his one-time-inseparable-best-bud Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar has claimed that “sooner or later” they will reunite for a movie.

“Well, Shah Rukh and I working together is an eventuality as he's part of my family. So I can assure you that it's going to happen sooner or later,” he told the Indian media.

“Like everyone else, I too enjoy working with him. Everything depends on the demand of the script. We can't go and make a film together just for the heck of it.”

He even tweeted his love for the star, apart from posting cozy group shots at the recently held film awards in Vancouver.

The 40-year-old filmmaker had irked Shah Rukh after he started a ‘hate camp’ against Khan’s alleged lover Priyanka Chopra.

Karan has since gone into damage control, but the Khan apparently is in no hurry to forgive.

He had, if rumours are to be believed, started sidelining Priyanka to impress SRK’s wife Gauri, who was evidently upset with the affair rumours.

Adding fuel to the fire, Karan even partied with SRK’s arch rival Salman Khan.

Although the two B-town “friends” have remained tight-lipped about their rumoured fall-out, Karan Johar’s decision to skip one-time-best-bud Shah Rukh Khan’s New Year bash in Dubai this year just proved that something was amiss.

“For years they have ushered in the New Year together in Dubai. You can say, the tradition was broken for the first time,” a source had revealed.

Karan then denied the issue, and tweeted; “SRK, Gauri and I are one unit.”

All eyes are now on the casting of Karan’s next movie. Many claim that he might cast Salman instead of Shah Rukh, and this, industry insiders know will only mean the end of their friendship.

Earlier, SRK had a fall-out with one-time best friend Farah Khan, after she decided to cast Akshay Kumar instead of him in her film ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

The fight turned nasty, after SRK punched her husband (and filmmaker) Shirish Kunder at a private bash. “The peace deal has been drawn since then, but you don’t know when things will go wrong again,” speculates an insider.

The Shah Rukh Khan camp has been slowly shrinking, with his once-close-pals shifting allegiance with his foe Salman.

Arjun Rampal also allegedly parted ways with SRK over cuts made to his part in ‘Ra.One’.

Even Hrithik Roshan has been cold-shouldering the King Khan at few public events, sparking fresh theories of another friendship gone bad.
