Movie stars from all around the world pour onto the Cannes red carpet of the world's biggest film festival.

It’s impossible to talk about Cannes and not keep a close watch on who’s wearing what.

As for Bollywood A-listers, while there have been some hits at the red carpet, there have also been times when they were downright disappointing.

Indian actors at Cannes have so far failed to impress billions back home - fashionably speaking.

Bollywood actor and India's unofficial ambassador to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to make her 13th red carpet appearance.

Last year Aishwarya Rai's presence at the prestigious film festival was overwhelming and now again all eyes will be on the former Miss World when she walks the red carpet on May 16-17.

In 2013, in an attempt to celebrate Indian cinema Bollywood actors decided to go ethenic-heavy. But alas! It has weighed a bit too heavy, indeed.

Sonam Kapoor’s humongous nose ring, Vidya Balan’s over-sized lehenga with that veil; Mallika Sherawat’s plunging neck line, Big B’s shimmering suit…do we need more?

But Ms Rai has a long list of faux pas at Cannes.

This is her chance to rewrite Cannes history, redeem herself of all the fashion disasters when she walks the red carpet with her husband Abhishek Bachchan.

Let's take at a look at some of her fashion faux pas in the past at the French reverie.

Aishwarya Rai arrived at the premiere of 'Inside Llewyn Davis' at the red carpet dolled up in a Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring 2013 dress.

The black lace-print gown with shimmering sequined embroidery is certainly one of her best number at Cannes but, to be honest, Ash really didn't have a record to die for in the past.

After giving birth to a baby girl (Nov 2011) Aishwarya was in her motherhood glory when she visited Cannes in 2012.

She was an alter image of her Miss World days.

There wasn't an inch of skin showing as Aishwarya wore Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla sari. She attended the star-studded amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in a cream chikankari sari and an elaborately embroidered jacket in place of a choli (blouse).

From being called the most beautiful woman in the world to being a favourite of gossip mongers.

Aishwarya Rai has been criticised for her style sense and eulogised for her beauty and of late she's been closely watched by all and sundry for her post- pregnancy flabs.

In 2012 Aishwarya attended the 'Cosmopolis' premiere dressed in a dark grey clingy Elie Saab gown which accentuated her unflattering post pregnany curves. She carried it off with a lot of confidence but we were left with dissapointment.

The beauty often got it all wrong when it came to walking the red carpet.

Aishwarya Rai in this red and beige outfit seems to come out from a different era altogether.

What was this beauty thinking when she choose this dress. The skin show is not flattering and the bluge on her back is prominently visible. The cleavage display is also very unbecoming of Ash.

This make-up on Aishwarya Rai turns her pink. While the fuchsia pink gown was just manageable, her make-up ruins it all.

Aishwarya Rai looks like a bag of gold.

The midnight blue gown and a scary snake-inspired neckpiece didn't do anything to enhance Ash's beauty at 2006 Cannes. Rai showed some skin in a low-cut, see-through black lace dress.

The actress again made a fashion fiasco at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival with her hair done up in a huge puff.
