The trailer of the documentary on Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has been released on official Facebook page of Malala Fund.

Titled 'He Named Me Malala', the documentary offers a look into Malala's life both before and after the attack.

Malala was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot while she was returning home on her school bus in Pakistan's Swat Valley.

She was just 15 years old when she was shot three times and severely wounded.

After making a miraculous recovery, Yousafzai became a worldwide advocate for the education of all children, resulting in a spot among Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World, a Grammy Award (Best Children's Album for I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up For Education and Changed the World) and the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, with Yousafzai becoming the award's youngest-ever winner.

Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Davis Guggenheim examines how Malala, her father Zia and her family are committed to fighting for education for all girls worldwide.

In the trailer, when asked who she would have been if she was just an ordinary girl from the Swat Valley in Pakistan, Malala replies: "I am still an ordinary girl, but if I had an ordinary father and an ordinary mother, then I would have two children now."

Referring to the warrior woman she was named after, Malala smiles. "My father gave me the name Malalai," she says. "He did not make me Malalai."

National Geographic Channel has joined forces with Fox Searchlight Pictures for the global theatrical release of the film. The film will release on October 2nd in 171 countries and 45 languages.
