The painting of a Dubai-based artist, Archana RD King has been selected by art historian and theorist and curator Dr Chris Barlow and will be showcased at the Parallex Art Fair to be held in London from May 16 to 19.

The art fair provides a platform for artists, international dealers, collectors and critics alike.

King is one of two contemporary Indian artists who will represent India at the fair. King says she represents the voice of New India – one with age-old traditions and views on love but with a firm grip on reality .

Her canvas, 'The Tunnel of Love' by B’lu as she calls herself, is a quadriptych interpretation of the Love Tunnel, a railway station in Uzbekistan which is said to be one of the most romantic man-made structures on the planet.

Through this canvas the artist reinforces her belief that love is a journey, which requires more than just one person to complete. The panels come together almost like a jigsaw puzzle, on their own each section is stunning but incomplete and only if you put them together does the form come to life - a breathtaking landscape that depicts the beginning of an essential voyage.

The artist uses oil on canvas to showcase the unbridled passion that comes with romantic love. The question of what next is resolved in a splash of vivid colours in her characteristic free hand style that captures both the energy and vivaciousness of the feeling.
