India vs Pakistan 'live' in Dubai: Song contest Sur Kshetra's grand finale

The musical battle, Sur Kshetra, between India and Pakistan singing stars is poised to have a grand finale in Dubai on December 20.

The finale at Dubai World Trade Centre’s Saeed Hall 2 will be attended by singing legends and judges of the show Asha Bhosle, Abida Parveen and Runa Laila.

The show which went on air from September 8 this year saw famous music composer and singer Himesh Reshammiya monitor team India and Pakistani singer Atif Aslam looking after the Pakistani artists.

For the first time ever singers from either side of the border faced each other on a musical platform.

Industry veterans Asha Bhosle, Abida Parveen and Runa Laila were the jury on the show.

Himesh Reshammiya's team comprised of singers like Indrani Bhattacharjee (Kolkata), Shahzad Ali (Bikaner), Yashraj Kapil (Delhi), Aman G Trikha (Mumbai), Diljaan (Jalandhar), and Budhaditya Mukherjee (Kolkata).

Competing with them and showcasing their international singing talent under the guidance of Atif Aslam were singers Ameer Ali (Karachi), Imraan Ali (Lahore), Mulazim Husain (Rawalpindi), Nabeel Shaukat Ali (Lahore), Sara Raza Khan (Karachi) and Nadeem Abbas (Lahore).

But after intense musical duel the grand finale is here and there were supposed to be five finalists. But, in the last face-off judges complained about two deserving singers still left, i.e., Nabeel Shaukat Ali and Diljaan. Runa Laila even threatened to leave the show. After much drama, both of them were declared finalists.

The teams will battle it out for the final time. After three hours of power packed performances the winning team will be crowned in Dubai.

The finale will also see all the participants performing on stage.

Shot in Dubai, the singing reality show was launched with a simulcast on three entertainment channels, Colors, Sahara One and Pakistan's Geo TV.

Who’s who of tinsel town like Mahesh Bhatt, Ismail Darbar who visited the show as guests have highly praised the talent of these contestants.

The show will begin at 8.30 and tickets are priced at Dh99, Dh199, Dh399, Dh1,299.
