Sean Penn, Colin Firth, Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, Carey Mulligan, Jean Reno and Jim Sturgess are just some of the famous faces from Hollywood that will walk the red carpet for the seventh edition of the Dubai International Film Festival, which runs from December 12 until 19.

The eight-day event will also see Indian filmmakers Karan Johar and Aparna Sen make an appearance, albeit no Bollywood mainstream celebrities have yet been announced.

This year, the festival will showcase 157 films from 57 countries, with 41 world premieres and 38 international premieres.

Nearly 70 films from the list will feature Arab cinema at its best, with corresponding talent also strutting their stuff for their turn in the spotlight.

Menna Shalab, Tamer Hosny, Bushra, Majed Kidwany and GCC festival favourite, Khaled Abol Naga - who was also at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival earlier this year - will be in attendance.

The opening gala will be "The King's Speech", showcased at the festival's latest venue, the Jumeirah Beach Residence Walk, while the festival close with the highly anticipated "Tron: Legacy 3D", which will screen here mere hours after it opens in Los Angeles.

The Diff box office opens November 24.
