Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika, Aishwarya walk down the red carpet

The Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI) opened on October 14 with several Bollywood stars walking the red carpet and showing their support for the festival that was in deep financial trouble a month ago.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Helen, Kiran Rao, Ayan Mukherjee, Anurag Kashyap, Gauri Shinde, Raj Hirani and other film celebrities walked the red carpet.

Film critic Anupama Chopra, who helped bring in donations from celebrities, fans and non-institutional industry sources, was also present.

The festival opened with Susanne Bier's 'Serena,' starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, and will close Oct 21 with David Ayer's 'Fury', starring Brad Pitt and Shia LeBeouf.
