Jiah Khan

Bollywood actor Jiah was reportedly found hanging at her Mumbai home on June 3. She was only 25 years old.

She had debuted in Ram Gopal Varma’s Nishabd alongside Amitabh Bachchan. She played a wild teenager who was infatuated with her friend’s dad. Although the movie received mixed reviews, many took note of Jiah’s talent.

She later featured in Aamir-starrer ‘Ghajini’ and the ‘Housefull’.

No suicide note was found.

Ever since the news broke out, she has been trending on the social circuit.

Parveen Babi

She was a rage in the 1970s and 80s, but it was reportedly her erratic behaviour on the film set that lead her away from the spotlight.

After numerous link-ups and break-ups, an unstable Parveen turned an introvert. She made very little public appearance, and was restricted to her Mumbai apartment.

Her body was discovered on January 20, 2005, two days after she died.

Some theories suggested that she starved to death, while some claimed that she was a diabetic and had developed serious health complications.

Silk Smitha

The sultry siren was hugely popular in the 1980s, and her stardom was recently documented in the much celebrated ‘Dirty Picture’.

Unfortunately, when she started aging, not many filmmakers were keen to sign her on, and she slowly disappeared into oblivion.

She was found dead under mysterious circumstances on September 23 in 1996.

It is believed that it was depression at not being able to retain her star power and her disappointed love life that lead her to take such an extreme step.

Nafisa Joseph

She was touted as one of the most gorgeous faces on the modelling circuit in early 2000s. Apart from the ramp, she even made an impression as an MTV VJ.

It was allegedly her rocking affair with her businessman fiancé Gautam Khanduja that lead her to take her life.

She was found hanging in her Mumbai apartment in July, 2004.

Apparently, the two were set to get married in a few weeks, but she found out that Gautam was still married to his first wife.

Kunal Singh

Not many people would remember him, not until his death.

This good-looker had made an impressionable start in Bollywood with ‘Dil Hi Dil Mein’ alongside Sonali Bendre. His career, however, didn’t take off as he would’ve expected, and he soon moved down South to explore opportunities.

He did a handful of Tamil movies.

He was found dead on February 7, 2008.

Whitney Houston

It’s not just in Bollywood, such shockers have been witnessed in Hollywood as well.

Singer Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel tub on February 11, 2012.

Although the paramedics reported that her death was caused due to accidental drowning complicated by heart disease and substance abuse, there are numerous theories suggesting some murky activities.

Whitney, who was at the peak of her singing career in the 1980s and 90s, had slipped on the popularity charts following addiction issues and a turbulent marriage. It was the heartbreaking fall of the superstar.

She was 48, and was planning to revive her music career when the tragedy struck.
