Amitabh Bachchan's KBC 6 gets its first millionaire

Manoj Kumar Raina, 48-year-old, is the first contestant from Jammu & Kashmir to be in the hot seat and win the jackpot at reality game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC).

Manoj was uprooted from the Kashmir Valley when militancy broke out in 1989, but dreams of rebuilding his house in the scenic town of Chowgam.

After winning the jackpot amount of Rs1 crore his dream of rebuilding his house has come true.

Manoj is an employee with the Indian Railways and lives with his parents, wife and has a 10-year-old son. His family accompanied him to the KBC set and was witness to his win.

He left Kashmir over two decades back due to the turmoil there and has visited the Valley thrice since his family was displaced.

Manoj is a huge fan of KBC host and actor Amitabh Bachchan. He considers Bachchan a real legend who shows immense love and affection to people on and off the set.

It wasn't a one-off attempt at KBC for Raina, whose victory on the show will be aired on Sony during Sunday's episode.

He tried to get into KBC in 2000 first, when the show began. For three months, he tried hard day and night, but was left disheartened.

He tried his luck again in Season 6 and came back triumphant.

'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) is based on a hit British TV show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' that created television history when it was launched in July 2000, began its sixth season on Sony with a cheerful young Sikh contestant from Punjab, Surtej Singh.
