Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif have wrapped up their two-week-long Abu Dhabi schedule of Siddharth Anand's action thriller 'Bang Bang'.

Noura Al Kaabi, CEO of twofour54, the commercial arm of the Media Zone Authority Abu Dhabi, said in a statement: “Abu Dhabi’s popularity as a destination to produce films has grown beyond Hollywood to include Bollywood; this is another step forward in the emirate’s emergence as an international filming and production hub.”

When quizzed by Emirates 24|7, a rep from the local production house confirmed the Bollywood actors stayed in the UAE capital for two weeks only and not one month as earlier media reports stated.

The actors flew out on May 19.

The actors performed some heavy-duty chase sequences amidst high security in the emirates.

The scenes were directed by Hollywood action man Andy Armstrong who choreographed the gravity-defying stunts in 'Charlie's Angels', 'Planet of the Apes' and 'The Amazing Spiderman 2'.

'Bang Bang', produced by Fox Star Studios, is an Indianised adaptation of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz starrer 'Knight And Day'.

Crew members present on the sets in Abu Dhabi informed, "Hrithik is in prime physical form and is keen to push the envelope. Despite fears of aggravating the head injury that he sustained during the film's first schedule that led to a surgery and a long recuperation, Hrithik insisted on doing all the action sequences sans a body double."

It was a hectic schedule and the stars were shooting almost 12 hours a day.

On the last day of the shoot, as soon as director Siddharth shouted, "Ok, Cut, Wrap", Hrithik, who was shooting on the beach, made a 100-metres dash for the ocean.

"He plunged into the water, splashed around and then started swimming. Watching him chill out, the assistant directors couldn't resist the lure of the cool blue sea and joined in. It was an impromptu party," adds the source.

The actors filmed across the Emirates, at the Corniche, Liwa Oasis, Hyatt Capital Gate Hotel, Qasr al Sarab, Emirates Palace and Yas Island. Bang Bang opens on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2.

twofour54 has also confirmed that ‘Bang Bang’ is using the production services of Intaj, the company’s film and television services provider and benefiting from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s 30 per cent production rebate in the emirate.
