The comedy movie Take This Waltz has temporarily been taken off cinema screens from all UAE cinemas.

"We have had the directive from the Ministry of Information to take the movie off the screen for review," says Andy Fordham, public relation officer of Grand Cinema.

The movie went on screen last Thursday with an 18+ rating, but within a day there had been complaints from the public which led to the review.

"We took it off the screen on Friday morning," says Andy.

Disappointed movie-goers excited to see the comedy found out that they had to change plans in the theater, as the movie had been presented through different advertising outlets.

"We went to Ibn Battuta Mall to see the movie, but we were told that the movie had been banned.

“We did not see any other movie we liked, so we decided to go home," says Inga Ustsinava, a Belarus resident of Dubai.

The comedy starring Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman, is about the difficulties the young Margot is facing when she meets her neighbor Daniel.

There is immense chemistry between the two, but Margot is happily married.

"The Ministry will probably decide to change the rating of the movie.

"The same happened when ‘Hangover’ was on screen. It had been approved, but after some days the Ministry reviewed the movie and changed the rating," says Andy.
