Two legends from the South Indian film industry will grace the stage in Abu Dhabi later this year.
In one of the most anticipated stage shows, Malayalam mega star Mammootty will felicitate Kamal Hassan for his contributions to social causes.
The grand finale of the annual Mappilai song contest will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 5, 2014. Kairali TV will honour Kamal Hassan for his commitment to social causes and his secular ideology.
John Brittas, Managing Director, Kairali TV, said: “Kamal Hassan is being honoured for his special commitment to social issues, apart from being a great film artist for over 50 years.” Mammootty, Chairman of Kairali TV, will do the honours.
Kamal Hassan is an icon for the South Indian film industry, and the diverse roles and characters that he has played has fetched him several accolades including the National Award, Padma Shri and Padmabhooshan.
“We are about to start a new dedicated Middle East channel, Kairali Middle East, which will have more content and shows from the Gulf,” Brittas added.
