First there was Tata Young, now it’s Naya who’s poised to add a bit of Arabic seasoning to the Bollywood feast that’s ‘Dhoom 3’.

Makers, Yash Raj Films, have roped in the Lebanese singer to croon the title track, ‘Dhoom Machale’ in Arabic, in a bid to appeal to Bollywood’s largest overseas market, the Middle East, with lead actress Katrina Kaif adding the oomph factor to the song visuals.

The preview of the Arabic version has been released on YouTube, with the song available for download on iTunes, possibly from December 9, following the album launch of ‘Dhoom 3’ in India; Naya’s track is the addition to the film soundtrack.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Nelson D’Souza, head of operations, Mideast, YRF, said: “Back in 2004 we roped in Tata Young for ‘Dhoom’; now we are repeating the trend with Naya, who has sung the Arabic version of the song.”

Talking about the marketing move, D’Souza said: “The Middle East today, largely Dubai, is the largest overseas market for Bollywood films. It makes sense as producers to appeal to this potential with initiatives that appeal to them directly, especially with such a powerful film franchise such as ‘Dhoom 3’.”

Currently, the title track is the only song from the album that has an Arabic version, with D’Souza admitting that they scouted for a talented singer from the region and Naya seemed to fit the bill with her “edgy, young voice.”

‘Dhoom 3’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2013, with Aamir Khan and Katrina roped in to star in the third instalment of the film franchise; the former is essaying the role of a ‘clown thief’ say the producers, while Katrina is an acrobat.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprise their rolls as policeman Jai Dixit and con artist turned straight, Ali, who go after the bad guys.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, ‘Dhoom 3’ is slated for a UAE release on Friday, December 20, instead of the Thursday release that Bollywood films get here.
