MBC 1 announces launch of Arab Idol

In the search for exceptional talent and authentic singing aficionados, MBC 1 has announced the launch of ‘Arab Idol’ in its re-make of the internationally acclaimed format ‘Idol’, the 10 year-old talent-spotting show that has proved successful in more than 44 countries around the world.

MBC Group revealed the details of the announcement in a press conference held in Beirut where singers Ragheb Alamah and Ahlam were present as the designated jury.  Official spokesman and Group Director of PR and Commercial at MBC, Mazen Hayek, highlighted the focus of the upcoming program which aims to develop the capabilities and skills of the participating talent.

Hayek added: "Arab Idol" is a musical journey of self-improvement and self-expression that transcends language and culture borders. MBC is committed to continue its offerings in family television entertainment through fun, meaningful and inspirational programming. "

Ragheb Alamah commented that he agreed to partake in the program as a member of the jury because of the international prominence and reputation of the “Idol” format and that he is ready to extend his broad experience in the music industry to guide and nurture local and regional talents.

In turn, singer Ahlam expressed her excitement for her role as a judge on the show and stressed on the personal growth of the winning participants to professionalism and fame.
