Police remove Charlie Sheen's kids from home

Troubled Hollywood star Charlie Sheen told US television on Wednesday that police acting under court order removed his twin sons from his home overnight after his estranged wife expressed concern for their welfare.

The actor told NBC television's "Today Show" program that his two-year old sons, Max and Bob, were removed by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department.

"I said, 'I love you, and I said, don't say good-bye. Say "see you later." Later is, as we believe, to be very soon," Sheen said, describing his parting from the two boys.

US media reported that Sheen's estranged wife Brooke Mueller, the boys' mother who, like Sheen is said to be battling drug abuse, filed for a restraining order in court concerned about her children's well-being.

"At this moment on live television I don't know where my children are, but I am not panicking. This is not about emotion or ego," the actor said.

"This is about focus and getting in touch with what I have to do to complete the task of bringing these two beautiful young men back to the home that they deserve to be raised in."

Sheen refuted allegations that his wild lifestyle, including drug-addled binges and sharing his home with two girlfriends he called "goddesses" is anything other than a nurturing environment for his children.

"There is more love, compassion, support, child care and everything else you could possibly want for a child in this lovely home," he told NBC. "It's not a house. It's a home."

Producers last week canceled the actor's hit television show, "Two and a Half Men" in mid-season, after he gave several rambling interviews, some of which included abusive statements toward his employers at CBS television.

Over several days recently, the father of five who was interviewed at home, accompanied by his two girlfriends, including a porn actress, and was unapologetic about his drug use, calling his parties "epic."

He acknowledged however that the last time he took drugs, he had probably taken "more than anybody could survive."
