Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor admits that he was ‘short-tempered’ and claims to have mellowed down a lot now.

“The paparazzi culture is going overboard and I used to get a bit irritated about that earlier. But from what I have understood, as stars our life is not personal anymore. It belongs to the public and we are public property. So there are no complaints. I have matured now as a person and do not get that irritated,” he admits.

He has shown the wrong fingers apart from making other gestures when the media clicked him earlier, but now he controls himself.

The actor says that he owes his existence and growth to the media. “I am standing here before you as an actor because you have got me here. You have stood by me when I have done well and you have criticized me when I have not delivered or failed and since you are the one who has put me on the platform, the media has the right to criticise me as well,” he adds.

Ranbir also hopes that his chemistry with Deepika and the success of their earlier films ‘Bachna Ae Haseenon’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ will reflect on the box-office figures of his forthcoming film ‘Tamasha’ with her.

“I think it is unfair to rate ourselves, but our last film ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ did very well at the box-office and people liked us. But I think that ‘Tamasha’ is another film. Hopefully audience will like it too and like our chemistry as well. At the same time I think we have to prove ourselves with better films, better performances and I really hope that ‘Tamasha’ leads to that,” he says.
