Model-actress and reality show Bigg Boss contestant Karishma Kotak has been finalised as the female lead opposite Salman Khan in Sohail Khan’s upcoming film ‘Mental’ (earlier titled Radhe).

Karishma Kotak did not win the reality show Bigg Boss season 6 but she managed to win the confidence of host Salman.

It is believed that Karishma was not the first choice; 'Cocktail' fame Daina Penty was one of the top contenders for the role.

Although Salman has no issues with Diana, he wanted Karishma onboard. He had a good equation with Karishma since he shot a TV commercial with her last year. In fact, he also advocated for her inclusion in Bigg Boss 6. He believes the model can deliver a strong performance on screen.

Moreover, both Salman and Sohail were keen on casting a new face.

If one recalls, Karishma also performed during the finale of Bigg Boss 6 which was highly appreciated.

Considering the good run Salman is experiencing at the box-office it would be a dream come true for Karishma.

Karishma Kotak is a successful model and she made her debut as an actress in the Indian film industry with the Telugu film, 'Shankar Dada Zindabad', which was released in July, 2007. The film is a remake of 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai'. She was last seen in 2010 Telugu film `Glamour`.

The 30-year-old actress cum model hosted TV shows such as `The Karishma Show`, `Spa Diaries` and `Its In`.

'Mental' is expected to go on floors on February 15.
