When Salman Khan had a lover boy image, Sooraj Barjatya made films like ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ and turned them into huge blockbusters. But then when Khan is back to working with him after a decade-and-a-half, he has a different image of an action man.

And here is Sooraj Barjatyta changing the rules of his films and filmmaking and also changing the way Rajshri Films is making films. ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’ is an action movie!

The film stars Sonam Kapoor opposite Salman who is in a double role. Salman has also got one of his men from his coterie Armaan Kohli to star with him in the film while Neil Nitin Mukesh essays an important role in the film.

Neil confirms the development. “We have finished all the talkie portions of the film along with the emotional parts. We need to shoot the action parts of the movie. The movie is not 70 per cent complete and the action scenes are about to begin soon. We are slated to shoot in the first week of June, which will go to around 40 to 50 days. When you realise that these many days are left to shoot in the movie, you will realise that it is indeed a lot of action,” says Neil.

The ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ actor adds that Sooraj Barjatya is, indeed, changing his style of moviemaking with the movie.

“It is a family drama like most of Sooraj’s films, but then one will see this level of action for the first time ever in his movies. ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ did have a bit of action, but this one is leagues ahead,”
affirms Neil.

Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya have maintained a stoic silence on the film, hence Neil doesn’t want to give away too much. “I am training a lot for the film, but I cannot tell you for what because it will give away details on the film. I am physically training a lot and have a strict diet too,” he says.

Sources however inform that international trainers are training not just with Neil but with Salman Khan as well and the schedules run into four to five hours as well.

Now to see how much action can Sooraj Barjatya handle with his one-time favourite ‘Prem’.  For those who tuned in late, all of Sooraj Barjatya;’s heroes have been named Prem.
