Salman Khan welcomes contestants of reality show 'Bigg Boss season 6' and starts the show with a bang.

He is undisputedly the biggest star in Bollywood right now and with the rise of his star status his pay check value has also increased.

After taking home Dh1.46m to Dh2.1m per episode last year, Salman will pocket Dh2.66m - Dh2.8m per episode in season 6.

Incidentally, this makes Salman the highest-paid Bollywood actor on the television, followed by Aamir Khan who debut on tube with 'Satyamev Jayate'.

Aamir pocketed Dh2.1m per episode for 'Satyamev Jayete' while rival Shah Rukh Khan charged Dh1.4m per episode.

Another Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan demanded Dh1.4m per episode for the dance reality show 'Just Dance' and Akshay Kumar charged Dh1m  for 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' per episode.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan struck a different deal altogether, signing a whopping deal of Dh7m for three seasons of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'.

The earlier season of 'Bigg Boss' had seen Sanjay Dutt play co-host as Salman was either busy shooting for 'Ek Tha Tiger' or coping with his illness. This time, however, the star will be present from the start to finish and is being paid big bucks for this commitment.

The reality show is the mother of all reality shows. Season 6 of the TV reality show kicked off on Sunday night with a big bang.

'Bigg Boss 6' is likely to live up to its reputation of a 'scandalous house'. With fights, squabbles, controversies and penalties galore, the inmates will surely make the show worth to watch.

Fourteen participants have been locked in the house. Opening day saw full entertainment by the star host Salman Khan who welcomed all the participants in the house.

The punch line for this year's show is "Alag Che" (it`s different), wonder what could be different this year!

Fourteen contestants will be locked inside the house for 98 days, away from the comforts of their everyday lives, and without any communication with the outside world. They will have 70 cameras, 15 more than the 55 cameras last season, prying on their activities 24x7.
