Salman to walk the Dubai red carpet... alone

The news is grim for UAE fans that were keen on catching Asin Thottumkal live in Dubai, along with superstar Salman Khan, for the world premiere of their film, “Ready” at Grand Cineplex on June 1.

News filtering in from India confirms that Thottumkal will be unable to attend the Dubai premiere as her passport has been held up for her UK visa application in India.

The actress was meant to repeat her red carpet walk, which she did with Khan two years ago during the Dubai premiere of “London Dreams”, however that is not to be the case.

At 9.30pm Khan will make a solo appearance, followed by a visit at the Trilogy nightclub at Souk Madinat later that evening. However, Khan is quite well versed in shouldering all the attention from the masses, what with over a two-decade long career in Bollywood.

Thottumkal’s UK visa application was needed as the actress has signed on for Khan’s good friend Sajid Nadiadwala’s production, “Housefull 2”, along with 17 other actors and the shoot is scheduled later this month in London.

Speaking to “Times of India” Thottumkal remained hopeful, saying: “I have not given up hope though and I am ready to fly even at the last minute. I am just praying that I get my passport. I have even packed my bags. Let’s hope that the passport comes at the last minute and I get to attend.”
