Sridevi, Madhuri to set dance floor ablaze

The rivalry between Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit dates back to the '80s. At a time when Sridevi was firmly on the top of Indian cinema's female fatales, in came Madhuri Dixit.

Madhuri surfaced in 'Tezaab' to topple her from the numero uno position.

A tough competition between the two began; while Madhuri won the Best Actress for 'Beta' in 1992. Sridevi rendered the biggest flop of her career 'Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja'.

Madhuri delivered super hit films like 'Dil', 'Tezaab', 'Khalnaayak'; Sridevi churned average hits like 'Chandni' and 'Lamhe'.

In 1994, with the release of 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', it became clear that Madhuri had superceded Sridevi.

However, the two actresses never let the rivalry affect personal life and public appearances. There was never any bad-mouthing.

Recently Madhuri paid a tribute to Sridevi in the initial promos of reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5'.

Now both the Bollywood beauties are set to share the stage on the show.

Sridevi will be a part of the celebrity dance show's grand finale, to be aired on Colors on Sep 30.

Once competitors on the big screen, the small screen is set to bring them in the same frame, and viewers can expect to burn the dance floor with their charm, poise and grace.

Sridevi will make a visit to the sets of the show to promote her forthcoming film 'English Vinglish', which marks her comeback to cinema after 15 years.

Madhuri is one of the judges on the show, with filmmaker Karan Johar and choreographer Remo D'Souza.

Sridevi's 'English Vinglish' is releasing on Oct 5.
