'Talvar' directed by Meghna Gulzar is based on the sensational double murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar and 45-year-old domestic helper Hemraj at their residence, that took place in the year 2008 in Noida (India).

After the investigation Aarushi's parent were convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The story has captured India and people have also questioned the methods used and the loop-holes in the investigation process by CBI and the state police.

The film has been selected for world premiere in Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival that runs from September 10 to 20.

Through this film, the makers have shown the initial investigation by the police. Later, the CBI took over the case, followed by a probe by one more CBI team. So it revolves around the three versions and at the same time the makers are trying to solve the murder case.

Originally titled Nyodda, but it was changed to 'Talvar' in February 2015.

Arushi's controversial case is being revisited on the silver screen come October 2 (India).

'Talvar' features critically acclaimed actors Irrfan Khan and Konkana Sen Sharma. Written by Vishal Bhardwaj, movie will also have Tabu in a special appearance.

Legendary poet-lyricist and Meghna's father Gulzar has written the lyrics for the film.
