Sathyaraj was one of the top heroes in the Tamil industry a few years ago. His films were remade into Hindi ventures with Govinda remaking a hit film by Sathya Raj called ‘Poovizhi Vasalile’ into Hindi as ‘Hatya’. This is the film for which Govinda got a lot of accolades.
And now Sathyaraj is being brought into the Hindi film industry. The man responsible is none other than Rohit Shetty, who is casting him in 'Chennai Express'.
Sometime ago Shetty brought Prakash Raj back into films with ‘Singham’ even though he had got a lukewarm response in ‘Wanted’.
But after Singham, Raj became a villain who cost millions, and now demands a premium to work in movies. Prakash Raj is now the most wanted villain and character artiste in Bollywood.
Sathyaraj too seems to be planning to get into a similar mode with his film. And he hopes to repeat Prakash Raj’s success.
Sathyaraj initially started off as a villain in Tamil movies and graduated to playing the hero, giving multiple blockbusters in the '90s.
And now Sathyaraj gets to play the father of the heroine Deepika Padukone, but the dynamics of the role are good enough for him to get a solid footing in the Hindi movie industry. No wonder that he was floored with the narration and immediately agreed to work in ‘Chennai Express’.
