Wedding bells ringing for Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji is looking for a tall, dark and handsome guy to marry.

So what happens to a certain Aditya Chopra, you may wonder. Fret not, because like many, this story too has evolved from Bollywood recipe.

Rani is all set to get married, but on screen. Rani, who essays the role of a Marathi girl in her upcoming movie ‘Aiyyaa’, will be seen hunting for the perfect groom.

‘Aiyyaa’ is Meenakshi Deshpande a.k.a Rani’s story, whose family is in search of a suitable boy.

And in this search, Rani comes across two boys, one of them being her choice and the other her family’s.

Who does Rani (Meenakshi) finally chooses as her husband is what the story is all about.

But ask the real Rani about her wedding plans, given her age, and the actress smartly answers, “As of now Meenakshi Deshpande is ready for marriage”.

So while Rani’s real-life man still remains a mystery, her reel man is being played by south superstar, Prithviraj.

Interestingly, Rani’s character in the film is shown as a Bollywood obsessed girl who worships Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sri Devi.

Talking about her character, Rani says, “Meenakshi is a huge fan of Sri Deviji , Madhuriji and Juhiji. She is completely smitten and inspired by them and she dreams to be like them someday. Meenakshi is a day dreamer, who likes to escape into her fantasy land whenever she wants.”

Rani laughs and says, “In half of the film you would find Meenakshi daydreaming.”

Rani also admits that she can see a lot of herself in Meenakshi’s mischievousness.

“Playing Meenakshi came naturally to me as I have this huge naughty side to me in real life too.”

Impressed by her co-star Prithviraj acting skills, Rani says, “If I have to describe him in one word then I have to confess: he is just awesome. I now know why he is such a big star in the south. He is a wonderful co-star and can speak Hindi beautifully”.

All set for an October release, ‘Aiyyaa’ may well be Rani’s shot to the top in Bollywood after a long siesta.
