Speculations storm the world of Tennis that poster girl Maria Sharapova has parted ways with long time boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov.

And it's all based on the fact that the much-in-love couple has unfollowed each other on Twitter.

Tennis' top couple's show of support has been evident in the past championships but they were absent in the stands when either of them played in the US Open recently.

During the US Open in New York, the two did not speak of the other nor seen together anywhere, which is a bit of a surprise given the profile of both tennis superstars.

Back in the summer, the 27-year-old five-time Grand Slam champion hinted that she's going to play doubles with Dimitrov.

"I would probably not play a Grand Slam mixed doubles, even though he wants to," Sharapova told fans during the WTA's All-Access Hour. "But we'd have fun. We do in practice occasionally. But he's much better and I don't want to make myself look bad."

But that seemingly changed during the US Open in New York when she asked to be paired with John McEnroe and not her boyfriend, Dimitrov.

Sharapova (27) and Bulgarian Dimitrov (23) have been dating each other since late 2012.

According to reports though, the romance may have seen its end with both choosing to focus more on their professional careers.

While Sharapova and Dimitrov both have their professions in common, the tennis star said last year their relationship is based on more than just their love for the sport.

While neither Sharapova nor Dimitrov have made any official statement, Huffington Post in a report said that the two even spent time away from each other after both crashed out of the US Open early.

What has acted like fuel to the breakup fire is that Dimitrov posted an image on his Instagram account and the caption read: "focus on the big picture."
