Harry Styles burst into tears during One Direction's first official gig without Zayn Malik in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The 21-year-old singer was captured crying on video while he and remaining bandmates Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were performing in Jakarta, Indonesia on Wednesday night (25.03.15), just hours after Zayn confirmed he was leaving the group after five years.

Zayn's bandmates paid tribute to their friend in a statement today, with the remaining four committed to playing another sell out show tonight for their adoring fans, despite the shock news.

The British heartthrob made no attempt to hide his pain as he wandered around the stage in a black T-shirt wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.

At one stage Liam Payne put his arm around Harry to comfort him.

Louis, 23, was also photographed with tears in his eyes during the emotional concert.

The group are in Asia as part of their 'On the Road Again' world tour, which is set to continue until October.

Zayn announced he had quit the boy band to lead a "normal" life out of the spotlight.

In a statement, he said: "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22 year old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

In a second statement the rest of the One Direction boys said, "We're really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we've gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. The four of us will now continue. We're looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour."
