Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he spends nearly half of his time in bed.

The 30-year-old soccer star, who dated Russian model Irina Shayk from 2010 until earlier this year, has revealed he spends as much time as possible between the sheets to ensure he's in the best possible condition.

Speaking during an 'MTV Cribs'-style tour of his luxurious property in Madrid, Spain, Ronaldo shared: "I spend nearly half a day [in bed] because to perform good and be at a good level you have to rest good."

Ronaldo also credits his healthy living for his enviable good looks.

He quipped: "The second or third most important place to me is the place where I eat - where I have my lunch and dinners because most of the times I eat at home.

"My chefs cook unbelievably for me, this is why I look like [this]."

Meanwhile, Irina previously admitted she also tries to get as much sleep as possible to maintain her beauty.

The model - who is currently dating Hollywood hunk Bradley Cooper - said: "The best trick make-up trick is to get a lot of sleep - like, 12 hours.

"When I don't sleep enough, I get cranky and crazy."
