Bigg Boss - is the mother of all reality shows. Season 5 of the TV reality show kicked off on Sunday night with a big bang.

Judging by the previous seasons, Bigg Boss 5 is likely to live up to its reputation of a 'scandalous house'. With fights, squabbles, controversies and penalties galore, the inmates will surely make the show worth to watch.

Fourteen participants have been locked in the house. Opening day saw full entertainment by the star hosts Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The duo will surely mean 'double-trouble' (double vaat) for the house members.

The inmates of the house will stay isolated from the outside world in the outskirts of Mumbai for 3 months with 24|7 camera surveillance. Bigg Boss 5 brings together the wackiest and sexiest bunch of celebrities under one roof.

But Bigg Boss has added some twist to the tale. Among the 14 participants, Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor is the only male member.

The dynamic bunch of inmates include actress and TV host Pooja Bedi, actress/singer Raageshwari Loomba, actress Shraddha Sharma, celebrity transgender and social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Charles Sobhraj's wife Nihita Biswas, actress Mahek Chahal, model and actress Shonali Nagrani, model/VJ/actress Pooja Mishra, TV actress Juhi Parmar, wrestler Sonika Kaliraman, Miss Afghanistan 2003 Vida Samadzai, Gulabi Saphera and Mandeep Bablee.

Shakti Kapoor becomes the captain of the house for the first week. That gives him immunity from elimination in the first week. But will he survive the second week in the house? Will the ladies rule Bigg Boss 5 after eliminating Shakti Kapoor, the only male participant?

The reality show will be telecast every Monday to Friday at 10:30pm only on the Indian entertainment channel Colors.

As the show progresses, more famous celebrities are likely to join the Bigg Boss house as special guests and through wild card entry. Famous names doing the rumour mills are Mike Tyson, former Indian cricket batsman and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, singer Shakira, actress Barbara Mori, former cricketer Jonty Rhodes and even Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit.

The channel has refrained from commenting on the inclusion of anyone as of now. When Emirates 24|7 got in touch with the spokesperson of Colors, she said, "Due to the format of the show we cannot reveal the name of the inmates as of now. You will get to know who the celebrities are as the show continues."

The inmates will do everything possible to keep the audiences rooted in front of their TV sets for 3 months. And that means more arguments, more cat-fights and more scandal. Bigg Boss 5 promises to be bigger and better this season.
