There were speculations that Katrina and Alia Bhatt were considered for this film but post YJHD, it can now be revealed that Dips has been finalised for the part.

The success of YJHD proves beyond all doubts that the audiences are in love with this on-screen pair.

Ranbir was on-board for almost a year. Though Imtiaz and Ranbir had discussed various options for the lead actress, they were still debating on who was the best choice.

It was during the shooting of YJHD, that Ranbir suggested Deepika’s name. Imtiaz, who worked with her before in 'Love Aaj Kal', was open to the idea.
